One interesting part of this book that I have
This book is not only a keeper, it's one to re-read often. The author uses the premise (and rightfully so) that we are blessed to be a blessing. In other words, we are to give to others as we are blessed by the Lord. And that's where the provision comes from. That is why it's called supernatural. It's like the line at the coffee stand. One person pays for another's coffee and it starts a chain reaction with many people paying for each other's coffee. One interesting part of this book that I have not read in other Christian books about finances is her chapter on seeding an offering. This is where someone uses the number of a particular Bible verse which he or she is believing to represent the amount they are giving.
The main thing the author wants the reader to keep in mind is that all provision belongs to God, not people. We are only stewards. If we realize this, we can give generously more easily.
I like the way she ends the book with testimonies.
...moreExcellent book! I think this is the best book I have read on finances according to the Word of God.
I specifically liked one of the ways Joan Hunter shares to rid o
"God knows the talents He has blessed you with, and He will open doors of opportunity for you to use them to serve others. Watch for and expect opportunities to give to Him in unique ways. God wants to bless you. He is going to free you up to do what He has called you to do." ~ Joan Hunter, Supernatural Provision, Page 67, Paragraph 3.Excellent book! I think this is the best book I have read on finances according to the Word of God.
I specifically liked one of the ways Joan Hunter shares to rid ourselves from a poverty mindset and getting a prosperity mindset, and that is by saying and declaring the following:
"God has blessed me to be a blessing. God has blessed me to be a blessing. God has blessed me to be a blessing."
There are also financial prayers woven throughout this book. One such prayer is the following (This deals with an increase in pay and bonuses):
"Father, I believe You want to bless and prosper me, so, whether I have been promised a pay raise or not, I speak a pay raise into my finances. I speak bonuses into my life, in Jesus' name. Amen." (See page 138-139)
God desires to bless us. He can use a variety of ways to get us blessed i.e. through others, pay raises, unexpected windfalls, scholarships, money for training, free products and services, increases in business, old debts being repaid, supernatural debt cancellation....the list goes on and on. The most important thing to remember is that He is blessing you, so that you can be a blessing to others!
May the LORD, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! (See Deuteronomy 11:1)
